Help Hollywood - Big Tidy Up

Last Friday was Keep Britain Tidy's Big Tidy Up and children in Reception and Year 2 took part in a huge litter pick within the school grounds.  Armed with plastic aprons and gloves the children worked in teams to collect all the litter they could spot to help us achieve the status of "litter free" which we need for our Eco Flag.  The children were horrified to find glass bottles, cans, a mobile phone, nappy, can of WD40, plastic drinks cartons and bottles and paper and wrappers by the fistful!  They worked very sensibly and asked for help with anything they were unsure of and their teachers were very proud of their positive attitude to helping the school environment.  The litter collected weighed over 6kg!!!  When we do our next litter pick we hope it will be much, much less - please help us by making sure you put any rubbish in the litter bins around school, or take rubbish home.

Many thanks, Reception and Year 2.
