Eco Global Gang Update
During the last week of term the Eco Global gang met up.
• The Key Stage 1 Gang are all very enthusiastic about keep our school environment somewhere to be proud of and they are busy litter picking during lunchtimes and break times as well as designing posters to encourage local residents to pick up their dog “poo” as we are finding that this is often outside on the pavements around school.
• The Key Stage 2 Gang spent an hour after school at Immanuel church planting over 100 assorted bulbs into the new Peace Garden. The children worked brilliantly together; most had never planted bulbs before so they are looking forward to seeing a colourful display next spring. We hope you will enjoy our work with the local community too.
Textile Recycling – coming VERY soon!! PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD TO FAMILY AND FRIENDS
Thank you for being patient with our textile recycling collection – we have had real difficulty sorting out a new collector. However, we are delighted that we will be working in partnership with Tesco’s for our next collection which will support the Global Community aspect of our Eco work. We will be paid £5 for every 10kg we collect (ONLY CLOTHING AND SHOES PLEASE) and Tesco’s are working with agencies in Africa where clothes/shoes will be sent to stimulate economic growth by helping small buyers set up their own business and create micro distribution within local communities. A DATE BEFORE CHRISTMAS WILL BE ARRANGED AND YOU WILL BE NOTIFIED ASAP.
We also recycle lots of things all the time!
