World Book Day is on Thursday March 3rd. Children will be encouraged to wear a book character costume on the day, such as Peter Pan, Matilda, The BFG, Harry Potter and Winnie the Witch to name but a few! There will be a prize for the most inventive costume. Please look at the official World Book Day website for further ideas.
If your child wants to take part in a 'Book Swap' they must send in a book to exchange by Wednesday 2nd March 2016. They will be able to choose a book on World Book Day and bring it home that afternoon. After school, children can return to school at 4:30pm in their pyjamas for a bedtime story, cookie and hot chocolate. They will need to be collected from the School Hall doors at 5:30pm. A letter has been sent out containing the consent form for the after school event. Children can only join us if the consent form is returned. If you would like further information, please contact me on firstname.lastname@example.org, thank you. Mrs Pritchard.
WORLD BOOK DAY THEMED MEAL
To celebrate World Book Day, there will be a themed meal cooked by Jackie the School Cook on Thursday 3rd March. The menu includes: "Wormy spaghetti", "Fresh mudburgers", "Witches fingers", "Crispy worm fries" and "Bunce's doughnuts!" All sounds yummy! If your child is in KS1 (Reception-Yr2) they will be automatically booked in for this meal and will need to opt out on Parentpay if they don't want one. For children in KS2, they can either book online or send £2.00 in an envelope labelled 'Theme Day Lunch' with your child's name and class. Thank you! Mrs Pritchard.
